Volleyball Falls to Gallaudet and SUNY Poly in NEAC Pool Play

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State volleyball team finished up their conference schedule at Gallaudet University on Saturday in their final NEAC Pool Play event of the season. The Mustangs fell by identical scores of 0-3 to both Gallaudet and SUNY Poly.

In the first match of the day, the Bison took advantage of 11 hitting errors by the Mustangs in the first two sets to put Morrisville on the ropes.  Gallaudet also produced a strong serving effort, tallying 16 aces in the match.  The Mustangs put a run together in the third set, but ended up falling 19-25.

Emilee Niejadlik (Hamburg, N.Y.) collected six kills in the first match for the Mustangs.

Morrisville turned their attention to SUNY Poly in the 12 PM match, but once again, hitting errors cost the Mustangs some key points. The Poly Wildcats also served well against Morrisville, picking up 14 aces. Niejadlik added to her kill total, picking up four in the second match of the day. Courtney LaVere (Oswego, N.Y.) picked up three kills as well. 

Morrisville will wrap up their season on Saturday, October 31 when they take the court against Brockport State and Keuka. Matches are set to begin at 1 PM and 3 PM respectively.
