Box Score UTICA, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's basketball team struggled on the road Wednesday evening, falling in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action to nearby rival SUNY Poly, by a 75-54 final.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 8-5 overall, 4-2 in conference action. The Wildcats improve to 7-6 overall, 5-1 in NEAC play and take over first place in the North Division.
Morrisville State struggled from the floor, hitting just 35% on 21-of-60 shots, including a mere 15.4% from beyond the arc.
Alyssa Gratien (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Mustang efforts with 10 points on the night, while teammate Caitlin Duree (Albuquerque, N.M.) added eight points and two rebounds while senior Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed eight points and a team best five rebounds.
SUNY Poly had four post double figures, including Molly MacLachlan who led the way with 23 points and seven rebounds.
Morrisville State looks to rebound from the loss as they return to their home court, hosting Wilson College Saturday at 1 p.m.
