Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's volleyball program defeated visiting Cazenovia College Wednesday night by a match score of 3-1, topping the Route 20 Rivals on senior night in Morrisville.
The win lifts the Mustangs to 4-10 overall, 2-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action, while the Wildcats have yet to notch one in the win column , dropping to 0-11 overall, 0-4 in conference play.
Senior Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, N.Y.) had a record setting night in the match, along with fellow teammate and senior Lindsay Easterly (Cazenovia, N.Y.) as both were honored for their four years of dedication to the program prior to the match.
Jones-Maxwell led the Mustangs with 14 kills and added three service aces and three blocks, becoming the all-time leader for Morrisville State in attacks registered in a career (632). Easterly moved her name to the top of the record books in defensive digs, adding 11 to her tallies on the night (633 career).
Brandy Ehrenschneider (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) added nine kills for the Mustangs, and Courtney LaVere (Owego, N.Y.) six as teammate Erika Bailey (Newark, N.Y.) posted 34 assists across four sets on the night.
Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.) led the Morrisville State defensive efforts with 22 digs, while teammate Ehrenschneider adding 19.
Morrisville State returns to the court Saturday, hosting three additional teams in tri-match action in Morrisville, including LaRoche College at 9 a.m., University of Rochester at 11 and Alfred University at 2 p.m.
