MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College (10-2, 6-1 NEAC) men's soccer team collected their sixth consecutive win Saturday afternoon, defeating host Cazenovia College Wildcats by a 2-1 final, in a Route 20 rival match in Cazenovia.

The win lifts the Mustangs to 6-1 overall in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play, while Cazenovia drops to 4-7 overall, 3-4 in conference action.

Both of Morrisville State's scores came off the play of forward Joe Sheehan (Liverpool, N.Y.).

Sheehan posted the first score 22:19 into the first half, gathering his own rebound off a defender deflection for the cleanup score in the top right of the goal, and 1-0 lead after the opening half.

Morrisville State added a second score in the 64th minute, as Brian Culkin (West Islip, N.Y.) sent a cross from the right to the far post, finding Sheehan who connected on the header for the score to put the Mustangs up 2-0.

A goal from Wildcat midfielder Joshua Parker would follow in the 72nd minute, cutting the lead to one, but the Mustang defense continued aggressive attack against the Wildcats, making it difficult to score with the pressure on, finishing out the game with another conference win under their belts.

Mustang keeper Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) finished the day with four saves and recorded his ninth win for the season.

Morrisville State will host Wells College on Drake Field on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m.
