Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustang women's soccer team (9-5, 6-4 NEAC) defeated host Cazenovia College Wildcats for a 2-1 final, in a Route 20 match in Cazenovia.
Early in the first half, Courtney Purcell (Fabius, N.Y.) found the back of the net from Cassandra Premo (Taberg, N.Y.). The score remained 1-0 for the duration of the half, with the shots equal at 7-7. In the 58th minute, Cazenovia tied the score 1-1 on an unassisted goal by Kaitlyn Lyon.
To secure the win, Paris Matteo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored off an assist from Purcell in the 68th minute.
Finishing the game with nine saves, Angela Marriot (Peekskill, N.Y) allowed only one goal on the day.
The Mustangs continue the hunt for a playoff spot; they will host SUNYIT on Wednesday, October 22nd.
