The Morrisville State College women's volleyball team dropped two contests Saturday afternoon, falling in a 3-0 match decision to host SUNY Canton, before dropping a 3-1 decision to Maine-Fort Kent.
The losses drop the Mustangs to 5-16 overall.
In the first of the day, Morrisville State fell by set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-13 to SUNY Canton.
Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, N.Y.) posted five kills along with teammate Jessica Chandler (Morrisville, N.Y.) in the efforts. Erika Bailey (Newark Valley, N.Y.) had 15 assists in the match, while Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.) led the defensive efforts with 16 digs.
Maine-Fort Kent picked up the 3-1 win in the second of the day, topping Morrisville State with set scores of 25-19, 14-25, 25-23, and 25-22. Brandy Ehrenschneider (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) led the efforts with 11 kills, while Jones-Maxwell added eight.
Bailey posted 28 assists, while three were in double digits in defensive digs, including Murphy who posted a team high 28. Ehrenschneider added 10 along with Alexis Hansen (Taberg, N.Y.).
Morrisville State returns to the courts Saturday, October 19 at the NEAC Crossover Weekend hosted by Gallaudet.
