SUNY Morrisville

Ryan Mahanna joined the women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2015-16 season and assumed the interim head coaching role for the upcoming season.

During his time on the sidelines with the Mustangs, Morrisville made eight appearances in the post-season, capturing two straight United East Championships where they earned bids to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Mahanna came to Morrisville from St. John Fisher, where he spent three seasons (2008-2011) as the full-time assistant in the men’s basketball program.

During his time with the Cardinals, the team averaged 19 wins a season and were Eastern College Athletic Conference finalists in 2009. In addition, Fisher made it to the second round of NCAA play in 2010, the same year that Mahanna was a member of the coaching staff that earned Coaching Staff of the Year accolades by the Empire 8.

Prior to working at St. John Fisher, Mahanna served as an assistant with the Hilbert College men’s basketball team where he was involved with all areas of the Hawk’s program including recruiting, scouting, player development, practice and game planning.
