CORTLAND, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's and women's track and field team began championship action Friday afternoon, competing in the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships hosted at SUNY Cortland.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The SUNY Morrisville men's and women's track and field team began championship action Friday afternoon as they headed to host SUNY Cortland for the 2026 SUNYAC Outdoor Championships, and after day one posted personal best times alongside a new Mustang record mark.
• Morrisville took the track for the first time in the 400-meter race, with Siyel Bowman (Bronx, N.Y.) posting a time of 50.91 seconds, finishing 13^th overall in the group of 21 racers.
• Laura Powers (Chittenango, N.Y.) competed for the women's team in the 800-meter race, finishing 12^th overall with a time of 2:32.80, out of 19 runners.
• Three Mustangs were in the field of 18 in the men's 10,000 meter race, with Donnell Davis (Binghamton, N.Y.) picking up a point for Morrisville with his eighth place finish.
• Davis put together a personal best time of 34:00.80, dropping a minute off the record he set earlier this season in the Mustang record books.
• Ethan Cossette (Oneida, N.Y.) was just behind Davis with a time of 34:34.47, also recording a personal best, while Zephrym Grover (Amherst, N.Y.) crossed in 16^th overall.
• Grover, who crossed in 36:17.05, also recorded a personal best time in the event.
• Freshman Stevieana Seneca (Irving, N.Y.) jumped 5.01 meters in the long jump to place 10^th overall in her championship debut out of the field of 20 competitors.

• Morrisville will compete in a second day of competition on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. in Cortland.
