Second-half rally falls short as Morrisville falls to Fredonia on the road

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. –   Visiting Suny Morrisville brought it within two points early in the fourth quarter Tuesday night at Suny Fredonia, but were unable to complete the comeback as the Blue Devils won 69-63.

• The SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team mounted a strong second-half push but ultimately fell 69-63 to the home team Fredonia.
• After facing a 10-0 deficit to start the game, Morrisville was able to push the pace by making four three-pointers to bring the lead to within three after the first quarter.
• Fredonia led 31-23 at the half after going on a 10-0 run late in the second quarter.
• Morrisville came out of halftime with renewed energy outscoring Fredonia 17-14 in the third quarter.
• The Mustangs were hot to start the fourth quarter draining four straight threes, three coming from Hayley Dawson (Papamoa, New Zealand).
• Two late three-pointers from Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) weren't enough as Fredonia held on to ultimately win the game.
• Dawson led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers.
• Ingersoll added 20 points along with four rebounds and six assists, while Mia Kaltenbach (Cooperstown, N.Y.) finished with 15 points including four three-pointers and two steals.
• Fredonia's Payton Gilbert led the Blue Devils in scoring with 20 points, while adding six rebounds and six assists.
