Morrisville women complete regular season with landslide decision at Lyndon

LYNDONVILLE, VT – The SUNY Morrisville women's lacrosse wrapped up the regular season Saturday with a landslide North Atlantic Conference (NAC) decision, handing Vermont State-Lyndon the decisive 30-2 loss in Lyndonville, Vermont.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's lacrosse scored the first tally a mere 1:13 into the contest and rattled off 11 more in the opening quarter en route to a landslide victory over Vermont State-Lyndon, 30-2, Saturday afternoon in Vermont.
  • Senior trio Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.), Maddie Baum (Fulton, N.Y.) and Alexa Ringgold (Bellport, N.Y.) paved the way for the Mustangs with their double-digit performances on the day, combining for 21 goals and 13 assists in the win.
  • McDonald posted 10 goals and added three assists for 13 points to lead Morrisville, also collecting two ground balls and two draw controls.
  • Baum collected 11 points behind six goals and five assists, while Ringgold added five goals and five assists for 10 points, also causing four turnovers and snagging four ground balls.
  • Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) posted the hat trick with her three tallies – including the game winner at the 13:10 mark - before assisting two, leading the Mustangs with 11 draw control wins and seven ground balls.
  • Jillian Dodge (Jamesville, N.Y.) had a hat trick as well with her three tallies, with Jazlyn Leet (Richford, N.Y.) posting two scores and six draws alongside a goal and assist from Mikayla Zotta (Schenectady, N.Y.).
  • Rebecca Thomas (Marcy, N.Y.) recorded the win, appearing in net for the opening 30 minutes before Aniyah Smith (Grovetown, Ga.) finished out the second half, recording two stops.
  • Morrisville dominated every facet of the game, winning the battle on the ground 27 to 10, draw controls 23-10, converted 4-of-6 free positions and outshooting the hosts 48-8.
