Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) and freshman
Kieonna Christmas (Fultonville, N.Y.) scored 12 of their game total 26 combined points in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon, leading the Mustangs women's basketball team to a 49-45 SUNYAC win over visiting Potsdam in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Host SUNY Morrisville picked up a 49-45 league win Saturday afternoon as they outgained Potsdam women's basketball in the fourth quarter to capture the 49-45 SUNYAC victory, their first of the 2024-25 season.
- Morrisville trailed 17-15 at the halftime break, before edging Potsdam by one in the third to send the game into the final quarter with a one-point difference.
- Morrisville outgained the Bears 19-14 in the final quarter of Saturday's play, hitting 6-for-12 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
- Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.), Kieonna Christmas (Fultonville, N.Y.) and Hannah Bonczkowski (Otego, N.Y.) each posted long balls in the fourth, leading the charge as the Mustangs capitalized on Potsdam turnovers to turn the tables for the win.
- Ingersoll gave Morrisville momentum with a three from the wing, giving the hosts the slight three-point edge, before Christmas made it a four-point advantage with her own long ball from the top of the key minutes later.
- Maintaining the slight lead, Christmas put one off the backboard and Becker then found Bonczkowski in the corner for the three, extending the Morrisville advantage to six.
- Potsdam was able to cut the lead to three, but that's as close as they would get as Ingersoll hit the back end of two free throws for the four-point lead and eventual win.
- Ingersoll finished with a team high 15 points, adding five rebounds and five steals to the Mustang totals, while Christmas added 11 points and snagged eight off the glass.
- Christmas had three assists to combine with another three from Abbie Platt (Oneonta, N.Y.) who also netted nine points to add to her four steals on the afternoon.
- Dezia Becker (Endicott, N.Y.) dished out five assists, hitting a huge three along the baseline to spark the Mustang offense in the third quarter.
- Bonczkowski wrapped up the leaderboard for Morrisville with seven points, assisting two.
- Barbara Bruno led Potsdam with 13 points, snagging six rebounds, while teammate Mikayla Shipley added a 10-point effort to go along with three assists and four boards.
- Daelynn Alcock had eight points and seven rebounds, while Jenna Cotter posted a high 15 rebounds for the Bears, who edged Morrisville 42-34 on the glass.
WHAT'S NEXT:
- Morrisville will have one final outing before the holiday break, traveling to Elmira College on December 14 for a non-conference match with the Soaring Eagles.
