WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Second seeded SUNY Morrisville made a trip back to the United East Championship final Saturday after defeating Mount Aloysius in the semifinal round the day prior and put up a good fight but didn't have enough to get past the top seeded St. Mary's College Seahawks as they finished as the 2023 league runners-up.
  • St. Mary's limited the Mustangs to just three tallies in the first half of action, while leading 14-3 at the break, before registering nine more in the second half for the 23-6 victory.
  • Six different players posted tallies on the day, including senior Aria Treadway (Rome, N.Y.) who also collected a ground ball and draw control as she put away a free position score for the Mustangs.
  • Alexa Ringgold (Bellport, N.Y.) and Maddie Baum (Fulton, N.Y.) each registered one, while Keeley Riley (South Jefferson, N.Y.) added one of her own to contribute to the efforts.
  • Jillian Dodge (Jamesville, N.Y.) collected one alongside Cara Walker (Phelps, N.Y.) who snagged 11 draw control wins while also collecting two ground balls.
  • With Walker's 11 draws, she passes the 100 milestone mark on the season, becoming one of five all-time to reach the 100 total in a single season.
  • Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.) picked up an assist and two draws on the day.
  • Rebecca Thomas (Marcy, N.Y.) had four ground ball pickups and recorded seven saves in the loss for the Mustangs in net.

  • Morrisville wraps up the season with an 8-9 overall record, finishing second overall in the tournament and regular season league standings.
