Morrisville women roll to win over Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team notched their third straight NEAC win Wednesday night to improve to 7-1 overall in conference play, as they picked up a 77-45 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Keuka College in Keuka.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The Morrisville women's basketball team picked up their third straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win Wednesday night as they toppled host Keuka College by a 77-45 league final to improve to 7-1 overall in conference standings.
  • The all-around team effort saw three Mustangs collect double figures in the contest, led by freshman Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) who collected 14, while adding five steals and four assists to her tallies.
  • Senior Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) chipped in 12, while collecting a team best seven steals.
  • Freshman Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) added 10 points, two buckets from long range.
  • Morrisville came out of the gates on fire, shooting 62.5% from the floor and nailing 6-of-8 from beyond the arc to lead 26-15 after the opening quarter.
  • They continued their offensive ways, overcoming Keuka in the second quarter and increasing their lead to 19 at the break, after holding the hosts to 11 points while adding another five from long range to widen the gap.
  • Morrisville forced 29 Keuka miscues, resulting in 39 points off turnovers for the Mustangs, and held the slight edge in rebounds, snagging a team 36 rebounds, led by Savannah Hobbie (South Kortright, N.Y.) who pulled down a Mustang high six.
