MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team dropped their first league game Saturday afternoon as they fell 80-54 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent SUNY Polytechnic in Marcy.

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball was doubled up in each of the second and fourth quarters Saturday afternoon by host SUNY Polytechnic leading to a 80-54 league loss for the Mustangs in Marcy.
• Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) continued to contribute to the Mustangs offensive game, leading the way with 17 points, while collecting three steals.
• Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) returned to the starting line-up to add 11, while Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) and Savannah Hobbie (South Kortright, N.Y.) each paced the Mustangs with four rebounds, chipping in a combined 11 points.
• Morrisville forced 28 Wildcat miscues, leading to 19 points, but Poly dominated the boards 48-26, outgaining the Mustangs 54-14 in play in the paint.
• The Mustangs trailed 24-17 after the opening quarter before a dismal second found them trailing 38-24 at the break.
• In the third, Morrisville battled back-and-forth with the hosts, but the second quarter deficit was too much, and a less than ideal fourth led to the Poly win.

• Morrisville heads to Cazenovia on Wednesday for a Route 20 Rival battle with the Wildcats. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Cazenovia.
