Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Cobleskill outlasted a Mustang comeback to pick up a 45-44 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) overtime victory over Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops Morrisville State to 5-5, 2-1 in the NEAC, while Cobleskill improves to 3-5, 2-1 in conference play.
Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) led the Mustangs in scoring, notching 16, while teammate Haley Kilmartin (Fort Plain, N.Y.) added 13.
Senior Caitlynn Adams (Sherburne, N.Y.) collected nine, while leading Morrisville State on the glass with a career high 16, including seven on the offensive boards. Kaitlyn Griffin (Brewester, N.Y.) added a career best 10 rebounds in the Mustang efforts.
Ashley Creighton tallied 16 for Cobleskill, including five from long range, while teammate Shelby Preston contributed 12 points and a monster 27 rebounds to the victory.
Morrisville State posted a second half comeback after trailing 19-14 at the break, but it was a three by Creighton that sent the game into the overtime period, where the visitors outlasted the hosts to pick up the win.
Morrisville State returns to the court next Wednesday, traveling to Keuka College.
