BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team cruised to their third straight victory Sunday afternoon, romping host Bryn Athyn College 18-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action behind a 12 goal second half.

The win is their fifth straight in conference play, upping their record to 5-0, while posting a 5-6 overall stint to date. Bryn Athyn drops to 1-6 (1-4 NEAC).

Morrisville State had two notch five scores a piece, including senior Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) who added two assists to her point total (7) on the day, along with Angela Marriott (Peekskill, N.Y.) who also notched an assist for six points.

Megan Carlin (Pawling, N.Y.) put together a hat trick performance behind her three scores, while teammate Ally Zlinsky (Owego, N.Y.) posted two scores and assisted another four for the Mustangs.

Hunter Waldau (Central Square, N.Y.) and DeeAnna Rammelt (Westfield, N.Y.) rounded out the Mustangs scoring with two points each, Waldau's coming on just goals and Rammelt on one score and an assist.

Cailin Dunphy (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) posted the win in cage for Morrisville State, turning away four for the conference victory.

Morrisville State was held scoreless until an unassisted goal by Marriott put the Mustangs on the board at the 16:19 mark, which fueled four more within a span of four minutes for the 5-0 visitor advantage with 12:21 to go. Two of the additional tallies came off the stick of Marriott.

Bryn Athyn was able to notch a score with 2:36 to go in the opening half, but Wood responded with her third of the day 32 seconds remaining before the end of the period to regain the five goal lead for the Mustangs.

Morrisville State was able to pull away in the second half, posting the first three tallies of the final 30, before rattling off eight more to close the period for the decisive conference victory.

The Mustangs dominated the Lions in every facet of the game from the get-go, holding the 36-12 advantage in shots, 35-18 lead in the ground ball game, and 16-1 advantage in draws.

The win pushes Morrisville State to the top of the NEAC standings with a 5-0 record, with two additional teams knocking on the door with unblemished records, including rival Keuka (3-0) and Medaille (4-0).

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, hosting Wells College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field in Morrisville.
