Box Score UTICA, N.Y. – Visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball fell to host Utica College in non-conference action Wednesday night, as the Pioneers overcame a 16 point deficit to rally for the 60-58 win in the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs head into the holiday break with a 4-4 overall record and will return to the court January 6th as they host non-conference opponent SUNY Canton to resume the 2015-16 schedule.
Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) led Morrisville State's efforts with 18 points, shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, while adding five assists to her tallies. Haley Kilmartin (Fort Plain, N.Y.) contributed 13 points to go along with her six rebounds, while teammate Caitlynn Adams (Sherburne, N.Y.) added another nine points and 11 rebounds. Adams also had five assists on the night.
Mary Miceli led the Pioneers with 20 points, including the go ahead layup in the closing minute, while teammate Ashelyne Babb contributed 13 points and a team best seven rebounds.
Morrisville State led 44-35 after three quarters before opening the final frame with a 7-0 run to increase their lead to 16. Utica then went on a 25-5 run against the Mustangs, collecting the come-from-behind victory with the narrow 60-58 margin.
Morrisville State shot 43.5% from the floor and out rebounded the Pioneers 35-30 on the night.
