FINDLAY, OHIO – SUNY Morrisville senior
Maggie Herbert (Jeffersonville, N.Y.) placed third overall in the open reining class Saturday at the IHSA National Semifinal competition held at the University of Findlay, advancing to the finals to be held in early May.
The IHSA National Championship Finals will be held May 2 through May 5 at the Tyron International Equestrian Park in Mills Springs, North Carolina.
Herbert, a double crown Regional Champion, will represent Zone 2 Area 23 as one of the qualifying riders for open reining in individual competition, but also in high point rider competition as she completed the regular season as the Regional Champion.
Morrisville had each rider place in the top seven at the IHSA national semifinals, including
Kada Tillman (Orange Beach, Ala.) who placed seventh overall in the beginner horsemanship class.
Jenna Tyson (Pottstown, Pa.) was sixth overall in the individual ranch riding class, while Mikenna Reithmiller (North Collins, N.Y.) added a seventh-place ride in open horsemanship to complete the riding season.
Morrisville placed seventh overall as a team in team competition.
